This program is executed through an agreement between SernamEG and the municipalities of each of the 11 communes.

In this regard, the Regional Director of SernamEG Los Ríos, Waleska Fehrmann Atero, pointed out that “The commune teams, in charge of the program, are already receiving applications from women interested in strengthening their economic autonomy through job placement, an initiative that since 1992 is aimed at providing tools to women between 18 and 65 years of age, allowing them access to quality jobs and to strengthen the development of their enterprises, training 758 women from the Los Ríos region online during the year 2020”.

“It is important to mention that due to the health contingency of Covid-19, the community teams deployed in the region had to make changes in their way of working, suspending all direct contact with the program participants, having as a great challenge to implement methodological adjustments to the Training Workshops for Work, through a new planning of execution of workshops, meetings, training, among other activities, each team used new ways to maintain contact with the participants”, specified the regional authority. “During this year we will continue to work allied with each municipality under the same modality, depending on the situation and phase of the Paso a Paso plan in which each commune finds itself. We now have an online registration process which is available on our SernamEG website. www.sernameg.gob.cl ”, added Waleska Fehrmann Atero.

“We invite women to join this program, which immediately results in women more prepared to work or undertake, but also with new and many more networks and new experiences. The Women Heads of Household Program has resulted in a high percentage of women finding work, entering the labor market and improving their businesses”, explained the Regional Director of SernamEG Los Ríos.
